About

I want to be a Writer so I will write.  This blog is an outlet for my writing and a way for me to express my ideas and give an example of my abilities.  It is also a place where I can experiment a little and through the process of trial and error find out what works for me and areas I may need to improve on.

The idea behind this blog is along the lines of the famous metonymic adage that is attributed to English author Edward Bulwer-Lytton, “The pen is mightier than the sword.”  I also like the play on words with this but I won’t explain it here.  I will see if you catch on.

I want this blog to be professional in tone but I also want it to be just as much about writing and my process and beliefs and opinions and thoughts as it is an example of my skills as a writer.  I will allow myself strong opinions because I believe writing is about standing by what you say.  Not just that but to be brave enough to put it out there in the first place.  To be able to stand by your convictions and to mean what you say.   It is about being able to keep your word in a time where the truth and your word or your intentions are not valued as much as they once were.

I want this blog to progress as naturally as possible.  As my skills progress I want my audience to grow.  I want this blog to develop through word of mouth.  If there is a post you have enjoyed, please forward it on to someone you know who might also enjoy it.  I want people to want to follow it rather than harass people to ‘Like’ me on Facebook.

Eventually I would like to share this outlet with other strong female writers that have an independent voice and provide an opportunity for guest blogs from them about what they consider to be important as a writer and what life experiences have helped develop their skill.

So I am a woman of my word. I will keep my word and defend it if I need to. This blog is my space to write what I think and about how I feel. It is a work in progress and I am happy to experiment and to share the experience.
